Frankfurt Germany - where it all began.

Sean and Erika met on February 7, 2003 in Frankfurt. Erika was living there. Sean was on business. It was a brief encounter in a restaurant downtown. They spoke for about 45 minutes and exchanged email addresses. Sean flew back to Sweden the next day hoping to return to Frankfurt to see Erika. But one thing led to another and the second meeting never happened. A couple of emails went back and forth, but by April the two had lost all contact and Erika had returned to Brazil. Fast forward seven months: It's late November and Sean is at home in Sweden. A letter arrives from SAS saying 100,000 of his frequent flyer miles will expire if he doesn't use them by new year. He gets online to search for somewhere to go. At that very moment he receives an email — from Rio. It's Erika. She jokes about him dropping by if he is in the neighborhood. He writes back immediately asking if she is free for New Years. Four weeks later (and almost 11 months after their encounter in Frankfurt) the two had their first date. Four years of long-distance dating ensued culminating in a proposal in Paris on February 7, 2007.
